This map highlights some of the countries bordering Cameroon. What makes Cameroon unique from some of the countries around it is the abscence of violence and relatively peaceful lifestyle. NIgeria is a country stricken with civil war and ethnic conflicts. While Cameroon does have a unique ethnic make-up it doesn't have nearly as many civil wars because of ethnic differences. When ethnic tensions do result in violence, they are generally sporadic whereas in countries such as Nigeria, Chad and the Congo poverty, starvation and internally displaced persons are common.2
